Thank you Miko Virtanen
Kittos (Thank you) Miko Virtanen
Arbroath FC would like to go on record to thank midfielder Miko Virtanen for his loan spell at Gayfield.
We would also like to thank Aberdeen FC and everyone at Pittodrie who helped Miko’s loan move to Gayfield possible.
Miko made his Arbroath debut against Dundee United at Tannadice coming on in the 63rd minute before making his first start for the club agains Dundee at Den’s Park on the 5th September.
Needless to say it didn’t take long for the Arbroath faithful to instantly take Miko in as his endless running and love of a tackle combined with his grit and determination seen him become a fan favourite.
Only an international match for the Finnish U21 side kept Miko from having a constant run in the team as he made 18 starts in the league, with a further 2 from the bench and 3 starts in the William Hill Scottish Cup.
Off the park Miko has been a pleasure to have at the club. A desire to play every single match for our club and a top gentleman, Miko has been a revelation whilst at the club.
The season of course has come to a premature end, but one of the many highlights was seeing Miko develop and we know he has a huge future in the game.
Miko has been likened to Josh Falkingham who is a Lichtie Legend and we can definitely see the comparison.
Miko will always be welcome back at our club and wish him the very best.
Thanks for the memories Miko!
C’mon the Lichties!
