Lichties Love Arbroath, all the way from Munich, Germany
On the eve of a new season we have had a message from the Arbroath Munich Supporters Club. The Supporters Club has grown in strength this year and plans are in place for some of the supporters to come over to see the Lichties in October when we play host to Forfar at Gayfield.
The Club is looking forward to welcoming the Munich Arbroath Supporters Club to Gayfield in October and hopefully by the time the fans come over to Scotland we will have got a good start to the season and we can have “ein Prosit” and certainly “Noch ein Bier, bitte”.
Following last nights Munich Supporters Club meeting Stephen gave us an insight into how the Munich Arbroath Supporters Club came about …..

A wee story about us. I was born in a wee village just down the road from Arbroath called Dundee. A city I left when I left school. Was,as a kid ,fascinated with the ground at Arbroath FC, wondering how a goalkeeper could judge a ball when the wind swept in from the sea. I have lived in bavaria for a long time now, married to Sandra who was born here. Like every Scotsman, I get homesick and we are seriously thinking of going back to Scotland one day. I would never tire, here, describing the “cult” ground and football club Arbroath FC. to my friends and acquaintances I was taken aback with the genuine interest, demand for scarves, T-shirts etc. and how they would love to watch a home game. An interest from many of us has turned to love. “Lichties love”. Sandra and myself are looking forward to the home game in October against the Forfar bridies. Before the game, having a look at the Arbroath harbour. Thats where I asked her to marry me.”
