Arbroath had the better first half with Kane Hester almost scoring with a nice lob before Hester also robbed the keeper of the ball with Danny Denholm hitting the post in the follow up.

Thomas O’Brien headed in a Danny Denholm corner in the 57th minute but Elgin slowly clawed their way back in and equalised in the 83rd minute through Daryl McHardy.

The game was poised for a dramatic winner but nether team could grab a winning goal which sent the game to a penalty shoot out.
