Cinch Scottish Championship – Game 1 – Season 2022/2023

Saturday 30th July 2022, Somerset Park, Ayr – 3.00pm kick off

It is finally here! The 2022/2023 cinch Scottish Championship kicks off tomorrow for another exciting season.

The Lichties travel down to face Lee Bullen’s Ayr United. Last season each side had a win each whilst also playing out two draws.

Just like all clubs, Ayr United have had a big turn around in players with striker Tomi Adeloye and defenders Jack Baird and Marcus Fjortoft as well as the likes of James Maxwell and Kerr McInroy whose loan deals came to an end last season.

Ayr United were in Group F of the Premier Sports Cup and drew with Elgin City, and winning the extra point in the play-offs before suffering defeat to Queen of the South, then losing out the extra point after drawing away to Annan, before their group came to an end with a defeat by St Johnstone.

Somerset Park is always a hard place to go and Dick Campbell will know his side will be in for a battle.

Mason Hancock comes right into the squad and has been assigned the number 18 shirt whilst David Gold is back from his knock he picked up against Ayr United, and we are still hopeful of adding a new player to our squad before kick-off tomorrow.

Your Arbroath squad for tomorrow;

1 – Derek Gaston

Our Support over the years has been amazing and we know we will have a big backing in Ayr tomorrow.

Cheer on the Team and C’mon the Lichties!
