Angus Council is committed to tackling inequalities and working together effectively with a range of local agencies and organisations. Angus Active Schools aims to ensure more school aged children and young people participate regularly in sport and physical activity, at school and in the wider community.

Cllr Derek Wann, Convener of Children and Learning commented: “Angus Council is committed to getting it right for every child and their families. Our Active Schools team will distribute these tickets with the aim of ensuring young people with an interest in football, but who would otherwise not have the opportunity to attend match days are given the chance to have this experience. I’d like to extend my thanks to the club, our officers and Ewen Murray, who have worked together to create this fantastic opportunity.”

Arbroath FC recently received a very kind donation from Sky Sports Golf presenter, and Club Ambassador Ewen Murray, whose family hails from Arbroath. This will be used to offer tickets for four matches across the season, with the first match being the home game against East Fife on Saturday 3 November.

Mike Caird, Arbroath FC Chairman commented “We are delighted that once again as a Club we can reach further out into our local community. Our Youth Matchday Experience welcomes hundreds of children to Gayfield every season, with their sporting teams, but this is an opportunity to welcome more local children. We are extremely grateful to our Ambassador Ewen Murray who continues to back the club and shares our vision of being a community club.”
