Arbroath have stunned the football world by pulling off a last minute loan window signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Manchester United.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent, Mino Raiola, has reached a deal with Dick Campbell over the Swede’s salary with a move that has stunned Manchester United’s manager, José Mourinho. The 34-year-old, who is available on a free transfer at the end of the season wanted reassurances from United that he will play an important role at Old Trafford next season. The Swede was not interested in being a back-up striker as he nears the end of his career but Jose Mourinho could not give him the assurances he was needing.

Dick Campbell moved quickly as deadline hour approached and Zlatan was flown up to Scotland in the clubs jet where he met the manager at a Travelodge near Dicks home in Keltybridge. Terms were quickly agreed and if the paperwork can be finalised in time he should make his debut against Annan this afternoon.

Everyone involved with Arbroath FC would like to welcome Zlatan to the club. The club would also like to thank new sponsor IKEA for making the move possible and for donating a new kitchen for the clubs house in Gedy Place where Zlatan will be staying during his time with us.
