We were contacted this week by the Waddell Family.

As most of you will know Kerr Waddell is a footballer at Dundee FC and a big Arbroath fan.

Kerr (19) has come through the ranks at Dens Park and is now a first team regular and has also has scored 3 goals this season including a double over Hearts back in September.

John McGlashan played a pivotal role in the development in so many young local footballers who he believed in and could see the talent and potential in them.

Kerr Waddell was one of those players.

A few years ago John took Kerr from the Arbroath Lads Club U16s in November to train with the Dundee U16/17s and made sure Kerr was one of Dundee’s signings on January 1st when the transfer window opens.

Even when John left Dens he still kept in touch with Kerr’s father, Davie to find out about Kerr’s progression at Dundee

When Kerr won his first contract John gave him this Arbroath FC Number 17 shirt from the 2009 / 2010 season.

Kerr would like us to auction off this special shirt to help Kimberly Carr.

Kimberly’s Brother in law was John McGlashan and she is
running the Great Women’s 10km Glasgow in June to raise money and awareness of Motor Neurone Disease Scotland.

So far she has smashed her target of £250 and now sits at £480.00 but we think we could help her reach well over £1000

Our special auction prize is the Arbroath shirt given to Kerr from John himself.

In addition to Kerr’s Arbroath Shirt, the winner will also get Boardroom Hospitality for 2 for the Arbroath vs Ayr United match on 3rd March where they will be presented with the shirt.

The Shirt and Hospitality Package will go to the highest bid and all funds will go to Kimberly’s fundraising for Motor Neurone Disease Scotland.

The closing date for the auction is 5pm Monday 26th February.

To enter, please email your bid to arbroathfcfacebook@gmail.com

We would like to say a huge thank you to Kerr Waddell for donation of his shirt. We know how cherished and treasured this shirt is to Kerr, and the memory it holds of John.

In addition even if you don’t wish to bid, please check out Kimberly’s Just Giving Page as any all donations are welcome.
