ARBROATH FC – MEN’S TEAM LEAD PHYSIOTHERAPIST

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the men’s team at Arbroath FC.

The wider sports medicine team are seeking a lead physiotherapist to work alongside them to deliver high quality, exemplary assessment, treatment and education of the men’s team.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to men’s team players at Arbroath FC
  • Provide pitch side medical cover at all training sessions and assist in the provision of emergency treatment on all match days.
  • Provide injury prevention strategies whilst working alongside club doctor, sports scientist and coaches as required
  • To liaise with sports scientist to design and deliver conditioning programmes/strategies in line with long-term objectives for the first team
  • Ensure all medical equipment is audited and serviced in line with manufacturing standards
  • Ensure all medical records are completed and stored in line with HCPC and CSP guidance

Key Requirements

  • Minimum BSc (Honours) in Physiotherapy/Sports Therapy
  • HCPC accredited practitioner /  BASRaT or SST for Sports therapy
  • Sport Promote qualification or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and written
  • Confident, self-motivated and able to work under pressure
  • Sound knowledge of manual and soft tissue therapy skills with experience dealing with MSK injury
  • Sound knowledge of injury prevention methods and recovery strategies
  • Demonstrate up to date knowledge of evidence-based practice in sports physiotherapy
  • Candidates must be flexible and willing to work hours as needed – this will require evening and weekend work

Desirable Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in professional sport
  • Experience working in a pitch side environment as part of a team
  • Be able to work confidently in an independent manner
  • Always adhere to data protection rules
  • Hold a full UK driver’s license with access to own vehicle would be advantageous
