Leslie Binnie

POWERED BY OUR PASSION

Leslie Binnie

The thoughts of everyone at Arbroath Football Club are with the family of Leslie Binnie, who sadly passed away on Friday afternoon.

“Les” was a huge Arbroath supporter and had been a season ticket holder for as long as his family can remember! The cold nights at Gayfield never stopped him from attending but those cold evenings are still remembered by granddaughter Jennifer Tait who was taken along from a young age with Les trying to get Jennifer in on his season ticket.

Former Lichtie Brian Mitchell was Les’s nephew and the family were always very proud that one of their family played for Arbroath FC.

Les sadly lost his beloved wife Agnes a few years ago but has 2 daughters – Lynda and Sandra with lots of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Les had the qualities to put a smile on a strangers face and will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

The photograph is of Les when he was taken for lunch (and a sneaky beer) by his two grandsons before attending a game at Gayfield.

Les will be laid to rest with his Arbroath football club tie that he wore so proudly!!

Our club is nothing without our loyal supporters, both young and old and we are sad to lose another Lichtie family member.

Our thoughts are with the family of Les at this time.

Rest in Peace Les
