Jimmy Bone

In 1975, Albert Henderson signed Jimmy Bone for the Lichties from Jock Stein’s Celtic for £10,000. He scored on his Arbroath debut in a 2-2 home draw with Dundee in January 1975, with Andy Penman also getting on the scoresheet. He was top scorer for the Lichties in his first three seasons and went on to score 41 goals in 97 league games between 1975 and 1977. Jimmy left in 1978, having spells with St Mirren, Toronto Blizzard, Hong Kong Rangers and Hearts. He returned to Gayfield in 1985 as Player/Manager making 30 more appearances and netting twice.
