Hall of Fame Dinner / Arbroath vs Annan Athletic

POWERED BY OUR PASSION

Hall of Fame Dinner / Arbroath vs Annan Athletic

As many of you know from supporting the Lichties, it can be sometimes very hard to organise your life around the football Calendar!

From delaying the family holiday by a few days so you can take in the Angus derby, or leaving work a few hours earlier due to “food poisoning” so you can really sneak off to a midweek fixture at Elgin where you will enjoy a delicious pie!

Well, this time unfortunately we are having to slightly re-organise our calendar as we have been unable to mutually agree a suitable date with our 2nd round Irn-Bru cup opponents Annan Athletic so we are now going to be welcoming them to Gayfield on Saturday 8th September kick off 3pm.

Reluctantly this means we can no longer host the Hall of Fame Dinner at Gayfield as there would be insufficient time to disassemble the marquee in time.

However the Hall of Fame Gala Dinner is still going to go ahead, but we are relocating only 1.9 miles away to the Meadowbank Inn.

The Meadowbank Inn and Arbroath FC have a long relationship as it was the venue for our many successful Sportsman’s Dinners!

Despite the change of venue we promise you an excellent evening and we some truly amazing Legends entering into the Hall of Fame, with the first name to be announced tomorrow.

As always our supporters have been fantastic and as it stands there are only a very limited amount of tickets remaining for the 4th annual Hall of Fame Gala Dinner.

The only change in the format is the location. Guests will enjoy a lovely 3 Course Dinner which will be followed by a variety of evening entertainment.

Returning to be our host and compère for the evening will be good friend of the club Sheriff Lindsay Wood. He will be joined with special guests Alan Rough and John Gahagan with several former “Lichtie Legends” also in attendance.

Alan Rough needs no introduction to football supporters having starred for Partick Thistle and Hibernian domestically and having represented his country over 50 times and playing at two World Cups! Alan also has had a successful media career and can be seen on Peter and Roughie’s Football Show on STV2.

John Gahagan made his name in Scottish Football with Motherwell, wining two First Division titles and notching up almost 300 appearances. He qualified as an SFA coach working in football development before turning his hand to after-dinner speaking.

He is always highly sought after for after-dinner events and will have the audience mesmerised and in stitches with his stories.

The new Hall of Fame Inductee’s will be given their passage into the Arbroath FC Hall of Fame where they will join John Edward “Ned” Doig, Albert Henderson, Tom Cargill, Bob McGlashan, Dave Easson, Ian Stirling, Jimmy Jack, Paul Sheerin, John Petrie, Eric Sellars and Stevie Florence.

Tickets for this celebration are priced at £45

These can be obtained by contacting the Club on 01241-872157 or by emailing afc@strathmoreeventservices.co.uk or calling 07775-779440

Thank you again for your support and understanding!
