Frank’s Law Charity Dinner and Auction

We wanted to share this great fundraiser of our former player Frank Kopel.

If you would like more information please visit Frank’s Law

“My name is Amanda Kopel and I am the widow of Frank Kopel, who was a Professional Footballer with Manchester Utd, Blackburn Rovers, Dundee Utd, Arbroath FC and Forfar Athletic.

Sadly Frankie was diagnosed with Dementia at the young age of 58 and died after a battle which he fought with great strength, courage and dignity, 19 days after his 65th birthday.

Since 2013, I have been campaigning for Free Personal Care for the u65s in Scotland. As the law stood, anyone over the age of 65, who had been assessed as needing personal care, due to a disease, disability, illness or condition received that care free of charge.

I am delighted to say that FRANK’S LAW, (more information can be found on Google) which the campaign is called, has now been announced by the Scottish Government, will be delivered and finally implemented on 1st April 2019 ending the discrimination against the Under 65s.

During the last few years, many sporting celebrities, mostly footballers from Scotland, England Ireland and Europe have been signing a FRANK’S LAW t-shirt.

There are other sporting memorabilia from the world of tennis, cricket, golf and rowing which have been donated.

My son and I have decided to auction these at the FRANK’S LAW dinner to raise funds in finding a cure for dementia.

When – Saturday 27th October at 7pm
Where – West End Suite, Tannadice Park, Dundee
Cost – £35 to include a welcome drink and a 2 course meal

We are holding a raffle on the evening of the event, which will take the form of an amount in an envelope with the persons name on it.

Dementia is no respecter of age, creed, colour or gender when it comes knocking at a person’s door, as my late husband and I discovered. It is only through more funding for research will this dreadful disease be eradicated in the future so that no family everlasting watch a loved one be robbed of their life at any age.
