Bryan Prunty

POWERED BY OUR PASSION

Bryan Prunty

Today we bid farewell to one of our much loved players.

Striker Bryan Prunty is moving on from Gayfield and has signed for Billy Stark’s East Kilbride who currently sit on top of the Lowland League.

Bryan signed for the Lichties in May 2016 after leaving Airdrieonians having also played for Dumbarton, Alloa Athletic, Stirling Albion (loan), Ayr United, Airdrie United, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Aberdeen and Celtic as well as representing his country at U21 and U20 level.

Bryan is a true gentleman on and off the pitch and his passion for football seen him become a real fan’s favourite and key to such a good squad spirit.

Manager Dick Campbell has mentioned several times that Bryan is one of the best professionals he has ever worked with and we think that Bryan is destined for a role in management in the future.

In his first season at Gayfield “Prunts” won the league with the Lichties being involved all but 7 of the 36 league games. One of the crucial matches in the season was a cold dark December at Gayfield when we went 2-0 down against Elgin City.

In the space of a minute the game was turned on it’s head. Bryan tucked away our first goal after good work from Bobby Linn then only 60 seconds we were level. Prunty’s determination seen him charge down a clearance by McPhee before looking up and crossing to Steven Doris who volleyed home to make it 2-2. An injury time penalty by Doris sealed the 3 points which were crucial in our Championship.

Bryan made 46 competitive appearances for the Lichties with 17 starts and 29 from the bench, scoring 2 goals.

We will all remember’s Bryan enthusiasm and passion, from that famous video of the Gambler to that “hat”, celebrating every goal whether on the pitch or not, talking and laughing with everyone from the ball boys to opposition supporters. Not forgetting getting to celebrate with his son on that day at Stirling!

Bryan will be missed and goes with the best wishes from everyone at the club and we would like to thank him for his time at Gayfield and we all hope to see our friend again soon!

Good Luck Prunts and thank you!
