Match Day 06 – Ladbrokes League One – Season 2018 / 2019

Saturday 15th September 2018, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 3.00pm kick off

Match Ball Sponsor – Angus Scaffolding Ltd

The Lichties return to Gayfield tomorrow for our 3rd Angus Derby of the new season. We welcome Manager Jim Weir and his Forfar Athletic team to Arbroath as they make the short trip east.

It’s another familiar team with ex-Lichties Marc McCallum, Andy Munro, Michael Travis and Dylan Easton.

The Loons started the league with a defeat against Airdrieonians but then recorded a great away win over Dumbarton, before a goalless draw with Stranraer before a win over Stenhousemuir then a defeat away to Raith Rovers.

Tomorrow’s match is the first of three consecutive Angus derbies for the Loons with a home tie against Brechin City before traveling to Montrose a week later.

Forfar Athletic Team News

Team News from the Forfar Athletic Website;
“Injury will again rule out Michael Travis from Jim Weir’s selection process while Matthew Aitken though back in training is still some way short of match fitness.”

“Manager Jim Weir is also very hopeful of adding a striker to his squad in the next 24 hours, but as ever no confirmation will come from the club until all paperwork is signed and ratified.”

Arbroath Team News

Arbroath will welcome back striker Callum Smith who was cup ties for our Irn-Bru Cup game against Annan Athletic and it is hoped that the stitches defender Jason Thomson had for the bad cut suffered against Brechin City will have healed.

It is another tough game for the Lichties and we are hoping for another tremendous and vocal turn out to cheer on the Lichties.
