Arbroath vs Dumbarton – Match Preview

Match Day 10 – Ladbrokes League One – Season 2018 / 2019

Saturday 20th October 2018, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 3.00pm kick off

Arbroath return to league action tomorrow as we welcome Dumbarton to Gayfield.

The Lichties will be looking to get back on track after a disappointing result against Edinburgh City.

Our visitors are currently without a manager after parting company with Stevie Aitken after a poor run of results. Dumbarton set a date for applications to fill the position this week but tomorrow Ian Durrant and Jamie Ewings will take charge of the team.

There has also been several players arrive for the Sons with ex Lichtie Robbie Mutch joining on an emergency loan from Falkirk.

He has been joined by Brad Spencer (son of former Scotland Star Jon Spencer) and the loan signings of Scott Allardice (Dundee United), Dom Thomas (Kilmarnock) and Jack Aitchison (Celtic)

Dumbarton Team News from www.dumbartonfootballclub.com

“There are doubts surrounding several players ahead of the trip to Arbroath. Grant Adam and Craig Barr are definitely sidelined with full-back Willie Dyer joining them on the injury list.

Ryan Thomson and Rory Loy are also nursing injuries and both are expected to miss out tomorrow. Robbie Mutch has had his emergency loan period extended from Falkirk and subject to registration should be available for the clash against the league leaders.”

Arbroath Team News

Arbroath Manager Dick Campbell will be looking for a response from his players after the exit of the Irn-Bru Cup at the hands of Edinburgh City.

There are likely to be changes to the starting line up with recalls expected for Gavin Swankie and Bobby Linn. Striker Callum Smith will also return to the squad after missing out on Friday due to being cup-tied.

Striker Kane Hester’s loan with East Kilbride has been terminated due to traveling times and Kane has rejoined Montrose Roselea until the new year.

Due to going out on loan Kane would have been unable to play with the Lichties until his loan spell had come to an end. We look forward to welcoming Kane back with goals and full game time under his belt.

It is another very tough game for the Lichties and we are hoping for another tremendous support who will be in good voices to cheer on the Lichties.
