Match Day 08 – Ladbrokes League One – Season 2018 / 2019

Saturday 29th September 2018, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 3.00pm kick off

The Lichties welcome Stephen Findlay and his Airdrieonians team to Gayfield tomorrow.

Airdrieonians had a large recruitment drive over the summer after new investment which included the renaming of their stadium.

There will be a few familiar faces visiting Gayfield as former Lichties Scott Robertson and Joao Victoria return to Gayfield alongside David Hutton and Leighton McIntosh who made the move over the summer.

Airdrieonians currently sit 3rd in League One with 10 points and have recorded wins over (A) Stenhousemuir, (A) Forfar and (H) Stranraer whilst also taking a share of the points with (H) Dumbarton but suffered defeat to (H) Raith Rovers, (H) Montrose and (A) East Fife.

With a large squad filled with vast experience it is easy to see why Airdrieonians have been tipped for League Winners.

Airdrieonians Team News from www.airdriefc.com

“Darryl Duffy is back in training for Airdrie after the recurrence of an ankle injury, and the striker will be given every chance to prove his fitness ahead of the trip north.”

Goalkeeper Scott Gallacher suffered an injury against Montrose back in August and since then David Hutton has been the number 1 keeper between the sticks.

Arbroath Team News

Arbroath Manager Dick Campbell knows that he has two very hard games coming up with the visit of Airdrieonians before a trip to Raith Rovers but will take one game at a time.

Striker Callum Smith missed out last week with a knock and it is hoped he will be fit enough to return to the squad. As each week passes the more full time training striker Steven Doris is undertaking as he looks to force his way back.

It is another very tough game for the Lichties and we are hoping for another tremendous support who will be in good voices to cheer on the Lichties.
