Arbroath 3 – 0 Annan Athletic

Arbroath confirmed their place in the 3rd round of the Irn-Bru Cup on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Annan Athletic.

It was a Dominant display for the Lichties who made 6 changes to the team that drew with Brechin City a week earlier with Hill, Gold, Graham, McCord, Hester and Denholm all coming into the side with a surprise appearance of Steven Doris listed as a substitute.

Bobby Linn got the Lichties started as he scored his 6th goal of the season with this effort in the 8th minute.

Although Annan only forcing Darren Hill into one save, it took late into the second half before we got our second goal. Ryan McCord took a touch before being wiped out but with Danny Denholm running alongside he hit a right foot shot into the bottom corner to make it 2-0 in the 71st minute.

After goals from Bobby Linn and Danny Denholm, Michael McKenna made it 3-0 to the Lichties in the 83rd minute with this close range finish after Ryan McCord chased the ball down the wing before putting in an inch perfect cross.
