Arbroath vs Stenhousemuir – Match Preview

Match Day 28 – Ladbrokes League One – Season 2018 / 2019

Saturday 9th March 2019, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 3.00pm kick off

We return to Gayfield tomorrow as we start the final quarter of the season with 9 huge games to come.

We have 5 home games at Gayfield – Stenhousemuir, East Fife, Montrose, Raith Rovers and Dumbarton with 4 away trips to Stranraer, Forfar Athletic, Brechin City and Airdrieonians.

Tomorrow we welcome Colin McMenamin’s Stenhousemuir to Gayfield. Arbroath have had the upper hand in all 3 matches so far this season but we know that it will be a very tough fixture with Stenhousemuir seeking all 3 points.

Stenhousemuir Team News

Last Saturday 9 man Stenhousemuir held Brechin City to a 1-1 draw and with Mark McGuigan up front Stenhousemuir always carry a threat with the talented striker already netting 4 times this season against the Lichties.

In addition Andy Munro and David Marsh arrived alongside Ryan Watters and Greg Hurst with the former St Johnstone striker already netting 2 goals in 4 games.

Stenhousemuir look to be without Conner Duthie and Russell Dingwall who were both red-carded last Saturday against Brechin City.

Central defender Morgan Neil may also be missing after not featuring for the last 4 matches, with his last appearance against Airdrieonians back on the 26th of January where he left the field due to injury after 64 minutes.

“After receiving red cards last week, Russell Dingwall and Conner Duthie are suspended for today’s game.
Morgyn Neill could be in line for a return to the team after recovering from his injury.
Cameron Breadner, Seb Ross and Nicki Paterson remain out with injuries.”

Arbroath Team News

Arbroath Manager will definitely be without Michael McKenna who serves a one-match suspension but there are doubts over Ryan Wallace and Colin Hamilton who sat out last week’s match at Dumbarton. David Gold and Jason Thomson were also named as substitutes last weekend but were both carrying knocks.

Former Celtic youngster Lewis Bell may again be involved after leaving Parkhead. Lewis recently played at Gayfield in the recent friendly between Arbroath and Celtic.

It will no doubt be another tough afternoon for the Lichties with Stenhousemuir fighting Brechin City and Stranraer at the bottom end of the table.

We value and need your support tomorrow!

C’mon the Lichties!
