Remembering Davie Phillip

Everyone at Arbroath FC was saddened to hear of the news of former player Davie Phillip passing.

Davie played in goals for Arbroath and Forfar Athletic and the Arbroath Vics.

Davie Phillip made 13 league appearances and 4 League Cup appearances for Arbroath in season 1970-1971. His appearances were restricted because of the fine form of Jim Gallacher and Brian Wilson.

Davie is pictured here at the Arbroath Hall of Fame Dinner in 2016, standing in the back row at the very left.

A good friend of Sye Webster, Sye would often meet Davie for a drink in the Porty alongside his brothers Bill and Ray (Tatties) or if Arbroath were playing in Forfar, where Davie stayed.

An absolute gentleman with a great sense of humour, we were saddened to hear of his passing.

Our thoughts and condolences with Davie’s family and friends.

RIP Davie
