Joel Nouble – Best Newcomer
Your 2021/2022 Best Newcomer brought to you by Redcastle and presented at our Arbroath FC Awards evening sponsored by The Townhouse Hotel Arbroath was Joel Nouble!
The Angus Nairn Memorial Trophy (Best Newcomer of the year 2021/22) Voted by the the Arbroath Supporters is Joel Nouble
The Angus Nairn Memorial Trophy is a trophy in the memory of lifelong Lichtie Angus Nairn who sadly passed away a few years ago.
The memorial trophy was donated by his family and is awarded to the best newcomer of the year, and this year was voted by you, the Arbroath Support.
Previous winners include Miko Virtanen, Blair Yule, Jason Thomson, Jack Hamilton, and we are delighted to announce that Joel Nouble is the winner of the Angus Nairn Memorial Trophy for 2021/2022.
Joel arrived at the club in July and was unknown to most Scottish Football Supporters but it didn’t take Joel long to make a huge impression.
His pace, skill on the ball, desire to win the ball back and surging runs forward leaving defenders in his wake soon had the chants of Nouble, Nouble, Nouble ringing round the stadium.
Not only did we get to watch Joel play every week, but so many of us got to know Joel off the pitch. Staying 40 minutes after the full time whistle for selfies and autographs and then coming up to Arbroath to help out at the Arbroath Community Trust or attending events like our Darts afternoon with Alan Soutar.
Joel is a giant of a gentleman, humble and modest and loves playing football. We were all sad when he was recalled by Livingston in January but we have watched on with pride as he has lit up the Premiership knowing that he is a part of the Arbroath family and a friend for life.
Thanks to your votes, we were delighted to award Joel Nouble as your 2021/22 Best Newcomer and present him with the Angus Nairn Trophy.
Congratulations Joel!
