Ladbrokes Championship – Game 10 – Season 2020 / 2021

Tuesday 29th December 2020, Tynecastle Park, Edinburgh, 7.45pm kick off

Arbroath travel to Tynecastle for the first time since their 2015 visit in the 1st round of the Scottish League Cup where despite David Gold opening the scoring the Lichties went down 4-2.

Of course the two teams both faced each other in the 2nd game of this season’s Championship and despite the Lichties missing Thomas O’Brien it was a close game with Craig Gordon making two world class saves in the first half before a lob from Craig Wighton in the 70th minute secured the win for Robbie Neilson’s side.

Since then of course Hearts took Celtic to a penalty shoot out in the final of last season’s Scottish Cup and have continued to punish teams at Tynecastle with only Dunfermline being able to defeat the Edinburgh side so far this season.

Arbroath will be without Connor Smith who cannot face his parent club, but should welcome back Mark Whatley to the squad.

Hearts were at near full strength for their boxing day match against Ayr United where they came back from 2-1 down to win 5-3 with Wighton also netting a double after coming off the bench.

With 3 tough games inside a week it will be yet another very tough evening for the Lichties up against the League favourites but as always the team will give everything they have for you.

C’mon the Lichties!
