BARCLAY SCOTT APPOINTED TO ARBROATH FOOTBALL CLUB BOARD

Arbroath Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of local businessman Barclay Scott as a Director of the Board.

Barclay brings a wealth of knowledge, business acumen and contacts to Arbroath FC, with over 40 years extensive UK and European commercial experience in the supply of construction products. He headed up a commercial sector with a responsibility for more than £360 million per annum. In recent years he initiated and established the renowned MKM Dundee division with sales passing the £12million mark since opening only 4 years previous. He has continually grown the MKM brand around the Dundee and Angus area year upon year with expansion plans now in motion due to the successful and rapid growth of the business.

Barclay spoke on his appointment to the Board “I am absolutely delighted and privileged to be joining such a progressive and well respected Club and Board, after my initial discussions with the Chairman, I shared the same visions and aims as the Club and I know where my experience can support the Club in achieving our short to long term targets for Arbroath, I very much look forward to the challenge and to working closely with our fellow Directors, management, players, supporters and stakeholders in getting the team back to the Championship again”.

Chairman Ewen West spoke on his first appointment to the Board “’As Chairman of Arbroath FC, I am delighted to welcome Barclay as a Director of the Club. Barclay has enormous Business experience and his commercial knowledge and contacts will be invaluable in assisting the Club enhance its income going forward. In order to provide the Manager with a competitive Playing Budget, attracting new Income streams to the Club is very important and I am sure that Barclay will be able to assist the Club in this regard. I look forward to working closely with Barclay and I know he is absolutely delighted and honoured to be working with all at Arbroath FC.’
