The William Hill Scottish Cup 4th Round – Season 2019 / 2020

Saturday 18th January 2020, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 3.00pm kick off

Arbroath welcome Falkirk FC to Gayfield tomorrow in the 4th round of the The William Hill Scottish Cup.

The two sides haven’t met since Tuesday 23rd September 2003 when the sides played each other in the 2nd round of the Scottish Co-operative Insurance Cup.

On that day a double from John McGlashan (75, 76) cancelled out a Colin McMenamin goal (36), but an Andy Rodgers 83rd minute goal took the game to extra time.

David Nicholls gave the Bairns the lead in the 108th minute but Ross Graham equalised in the 116th minute but Nicholls scored the winner in the last minute of extra time in dramatic fashion.

The Bairns sit just one point behind Raith Rovers in League One this season, with 3 wins in their last 4 games as the full time side look to bounce back into the Championship.

With Co-Managers Lee Miller and David McCracken in charge they have been active in the transfer market with the signing of Josh Todd this afternoon, and also defender Ben Hall arriving from Partick Thistle and Raffaele De Vita arriving on loan from Livingston.

Of course there will be a familiar face in the Falkirk side as Robbie Mutch has been playing as Number 1 keeper in recent weeks.

Dundee United loanee Logan Chalmers will be in the Arbroath squad for tomorrow’s game as Robbie Nielson has kindly given Arbroath permission to play Logan in the Scottish Cup. Logan will wear number 23 for the Lichties.

It will be a very tough game up against another full side team, which is brimming with experience in all departments.

We hope you can join us and cheer on the Lichties.

C’mon the Lichties!
