Ladbrokes Championship – Game 25 – Season 2019 / 2020

Saturday 22nd February, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 3.00pm kick off

Arbroath return to action tomorrow as Mark Kerr’s Ayr United are the visitors to Gayfield Park.

As always we will keep you up-to-date in regards to the weather conditions as they unfold. Currently Arbroath has been free of the heavy rain drenching the West Coast, but it is windy.

Last Saturday the weather conditions changed dramatically all day, but as kick off approach the conditions improved and the game went ahead in normal conditions for this time of year.

Our last game away to Ayr United somehow survived the weather as the sides played out a 1-1 draw with Michael McKenna scoring from the spot.

Ayr United brought in former Raith Rovers midfielder Grant Gillespie from Derry City, signed Jordan Houston permanently from Rangers.

Aaron Drinan, Connor Malley and Scott Tiffoney all arrived on loan boosting the Somerset Park Squad.

With postponements due to weather and cup competitions the Honest Men haven’t played a championship game since January.

Ayr United also have doubts over Midfielders Ross Docherty and Andy Murdoch, defender Andy Geggan and striker Craig Moore.

Arbroath Manager Dick Campbell has a pleasant selection headache, with Michael McKenna expected back after the birth of his new daughter, whilst Logan Chalmers also scored two goals for the Dundee United development side during the week.

With a nearly fully fit squad and a team who have just won their 3rd game in a row, there is a fight for places in the side throughout.

It will be another extremely tough game for the Lichties but with your backing anything is possible as we have already shown this season.

C’mon the Lichties!
