Ricky Little – Management’s Player of the Year

The George Baird Trophy (Managers Player of the Year) Voted by the Management Team

The George (Geordie) Baird Trophy is another trophy in the memory of another wonderful lifelong Lichtie, George Baird.

This trophy was again donated by his family, and is awarded annually to the Management Team’s “Player of the Year” and is voted by the Arbroath FC Management Team.

Previous winners include Colin Hamilton, Thomas O’Brien and Bobby Linn, and we are delighted to announce that Ricky Little for the second season in a row is the winner of the Geordie Baird Memorial Trophy for 2021/2022.

With Dick Campbell, Ian Campbell, John Young and Robert Douglas all voting for their player of the season it was Ricky who came out on top.

Ricky recently celebrated his 300th game for Arbroath and during those 300 appearances made 100 consecutive league starts for Arbroath FC which is an outstanding feat in Scottish Football.

Alongside team mates Thomas O’Brien, Colin Hamilton, Jason Thomson, Scott Stewart and Chris Hamilton and in front of Derek Gaston in the heart of the defence, Ricky has helped our team record an incredible 17 clean sheets this season, which is unheard of in the Scottish Championship.

Ricky always wears his heart on his sleeve and his passion and skill has made him a hero for many of the Arbroath support.

Congratulations once again Ricky!
