John Brownlie brought in Kevin Heenan for the suspended Paul Brownlie. Arbroath were playing with the northerly wind in the first half however it was the visitors who took the lead after 26 minutes through a scrambled goal from Shaun Dennis. This setback livened up the home team who equalised 5 minutes later through a fine effort from Graham Bayne (this made up for his earlier miss from a similar position) and then took the lead a few minutes later when a great run up the right by Tait saw him cross the ball to an unmarked John McGlashan who slotted the ball home into an empty goal. This setback spurred Raith into action but we held out until half time.
The second half saw the visitors, with the wind advantage, push hard for an equaliser but the found Hinchcliffe again in excellent form and it was due to the heroics of our keeper that we held onto our lead until the last minute of the match when Novo leveled the score for the visitors.
