John Brownlie brought back Florence at right back and brought in Andy Roddie on the left wing following his good performance for the reserves in Monday night’s Forfarshire Cup defeat at Montrose.

The home team soon showed the fans that they were up for the match as the tackled and attacked the visitors straight from the kick-off. The Dingwall men seemed content to defend and try to attack on the break. John McGlashan, who was back following suspension, continued on from his good performance on Monday and pushed and probed from midfield. Despite having the majority of the play Arbroath failed to create any real chances and it was County who looked the more dangerous on the break. County took the lead when Rowe was beaten on the left and the ball was taken into the penalty box and hit home to put us one nil down. Despite this setback Arbroath continued to push forward in an attempt to get the equaliser.

Arbroath started off the second half attacking the harbour end goal and eventually were rewarded when Mallan was brought crashing to the ground in the penalty box and then converted the resultant spot kick. John McAulay was unlucky when he picked up a great pass from Mallan only to see his volley beat the keeper but rebound off of the visiting keepers left hand post and then cleared.
