Arbroath lined up 4-4-2 against Ross County with Stevie Mallan taking over from the suspended John Cusick. The first half was very much a midfield battle with the home team having the majority of the few scoring chances which were created but poor finishing and good defending and keeping kept the scores level at half-time.
We weathered State's early pressure in the second half and with 60 minutes gone, Bayne collected the ball following a mistake in the State defence and his through pass found Stevie Mallan who flicked the ball home to score his second goal against Ross Count in successive away matches in Dingwall. McAulay replaced McKinnon with 15 minutes left and Arbroath held out to the final whistle and were unlucky in the final minute when a McGlashan net bound shot was deflected away for a corner.
