Manager Brownlie surprised a number of fans when he elected to drop John Cusick to the bench and bring in Colin McKinnon as a direct replacement whilst there was no place on the bench for young Gavin Swankie.
Playing towards the harbour end Arbroath started brightly however County got back in the game and had a good bit of pressure in the first half which saw Hinchcliffe having to make a couple of great saves. A Tait cross found Rowe and his header hit the back of the net but was adjudged to have been offside by the seaside linesman. Just before half time Bayne fed McInally the ball out on the left and his cross was dummied by Bayne and reached Cargill who swept the ball into the back on the net to put us ahead at half time.
Hinchcliffe pulled of another good save at the start of the second half before an error by the visiting keeper saw him try to dribble the ball out past Cargill who won it and slotted it home for his and Arbroath's second goal. County pulled a goal back from a Brian Irvine headed following a corner and County tried hard to get the equaliser but found Hinchcliffe and our defence had closed up shop as we held out to record another good home win - this is now our third in succession following the early season drawbacks against Airdrie and Partick Thistle.
