The Maryhill Magyars

Partick Thistle  4 - Arbroath 1

Hinchcliffe
Tait    Rowe    Ritchie    McInally
Heenan    Cargill    Cusick    McGlashan    Brownlie
Bayne

Substitutes: Wight, Swankie, McKinnon, Arbuckle, Gardner.

The fans were surprised at the omission of Florence who was not included in the squad with the result that again on-one managed to win the signed AFC Football  by selecting the correct starting eleven. McInally took over at left back with Heenan coming in on the right wing and Brownlie moving over onto the left wing. For the second away match in succession we lost an early goal though this time it was through a tremendous unbeatable shot which Hinchcliffe had no chance in saving. Despite pushing hard for an equaliser Arbroath failed to cash in on the few chances they had and went further behind on the stroke of half time through another good shot.

Gardner replaced Heenan at half time and we pulled a goal back in 58 minutes following a great free kick from Cusick after Cargill had been brought down. We put the home team under pressure as we tried to get the equaliser but lost a thirds goal 12 minutes later and au undeserved fourth on full-time.
