The match started off at a frantic pace with both teams trying to get the upper hand. Gradually Arbroath started applying the pressure in the
visitors goalmouth but the failed to take advantage and there was no scoring when both teams went in at half time.
Arbroath continued to apply pressure at the start of the second half but high crosses and shots off target did not trouble the Jags keeper. A counter attack
from Partick saw them take the lead and control of the match scoring another two goals before Bayne scored a late consolation goal.
