Caley Thistle

Inverness Caledonian Thistle 5 - Arbroath 1

Wight
Ritchie    Cusick    Mackay    Florence
Heenan    Cargill    McGlashan    Gardner
Bayne    Mallan

Substitutes: Hinchcliffe, McInally, McKinnon, Mercer,  Brownlie

With Rowe absent through his wife having given birth early on Saturday morning, John Brownlie introduced new signing, Innes Ritchie, into the centre of defence with John Cusick taking over at right back. Playing against a very strong wind, the home team took advantage of the wind early on when it blew the ball away from Mackay to Wyness who scored easily. Failure to mark Mann allow him a clear header in 14 minutes. Arbroath struggled to get back into the game in the first half but despite the majority of possession they failed to cause any problems in the home defence.
The wind mysteriously disappeared at half time and after some early Arbroath pressure the home side sealed the match with another 2 goal following some poor defending before Mallan scored a late consolation goal following good play by substitute McInally. On the stroke of full-time Inverness scored their fifth.
