Lining up with the same team which had earned them 4 points in their last two away games against Raith Rovers and St. Mirren we hoped to get revenge for our single goal defeat in our earlier meeting at Broadwood this season. Having scored three goals last week we hoped to continue scoring but were under pressure for much of the first half and did not really look like scoring. Clyde had a number of chances before George Rowe was adjudged to have fouled in the penalty box and Clyde scored from the spot kick after 29 minutes. Soon after, Arbroath should have got back on level terms when Brownlie sent over a good cross for Bayne, but his header saved by the home keeper.

The Manager made two changes at half time as he tried to inject some life into Arbroath with Moffat and Cusick being introduced in place of Tait and Brownlie. These changes improved the visitor’s performance in the second half but still we did not play well enough to force themselves back into the game. Mallan replaced McKinnon but despite a couple of half chances we did not look like getting anything out of the match – and didn’t!
