With David McInally suspended, John Brownlie brought in Stevie Florence as a straight replacement as the only change to the team which had some so close to getting a result at Falkirk. Playing towards the Dundee end in the first half Arbroath found the early stages hard going against Clyde who were on a good run at present having beaten the top two teams in the League recently. Cargill was playing very well and soon we were putting the visitors under pressure though had to rely on a mistake by the Clyde defence to take the lead just before half time when a pass-back to the keeper missed the intended target and Bayne slipped in to take advantage of the open goal.
Arbroath were the better team after the break but the visitors equalised with a tremendous overhead shot which beat the diving Hinchcliffe. Mallan replaced McKinnon as the home site struggled to get ahead again however with 5 minutes to go we cot a corner on our left, Cargill's first attempt was poor but he got the ball back from Cusick and his inch perfect cross was met by Ritchie who headed the ball between the visiting keeper's legs to put us ahead and we held out till the final whistle.
