The Diamonds

Airdrie 3 - Arbroath 1

Hinchcliffe
Tait    Rowe    Ritchie    Florence
Brownlie    Cargill    McKinnon    McGlashan    McInally
Bayne

Substitutes: Wight, Heenan, Cusick, Arbuckle, Gardner.

McKinnon was again selected in favour over Cusick who was on the bench, possibly the manager thought that Colin's height would be able to assist in defence. Alas, on a wet surface and with a wet ball, disaster struck after only two minutes when a cross ball saw Hinchcliffe collect then drop it as he collided with McKinnon and the ball fell to a home player who scored.. The visitors tried hard to get on level terms and were rewarded with a great shot from John McGlashan in 27 minutes which  was voted goal of the day on Sunday's Football First. Alas we were only on level terms for 2 minutes before the home team took the lead again.

The home team increased their lead in 55 minutes and held onto it despite the introduction of Heenan and Arbuckle for his first appearance in the First Division.
