Highlights:- A good away support, making up around 50% of the
attendance. saw David Arbuckle return to first team duty on the substitutes
bench with new signing Mauchan from Raith Rovers. Arbroath lined up 4-3-3 with
Heenan supporting Mallan and Brownlie up front. In the opening minute Stevie
Mallan had a good chance but failed to take. With the home side having wind
advantage it was an even first half which saw neither keeper being forced into a
real save.
With the wind advantage in the second half Arbroath pushed hard for the full
points. The best of their chances came from Mallan hitting the home keepers left
hand post and Mercer having a cross cleared off of the line. The home team had a
chance to take the lead but Hinchcliffe collected easily for English. Arbroath
were awarded a free kick a couple of minutes from time and George Rowe rattled
the ball home off of the bar to bounce over the line before it bounced out
again.
