Highlights:- With Florence out through the injured hand he received against
Queens Park, Jon
Crawford took over at left back as we lined up in a 4-3-3 formation with Thomson
joining Webster in the centre of defence. Despite losing a goal in
the opening minutes to a great wind assisted shot, the home side took control of
the first half against the wind with Cusick and Heenan outstanding. Heenan was
rampant on the right wing but the home team were unable to capitalise on his
good work and crosses. A tremendous George Rowe shot, into the wind, rattled off
the bar and Mallan was there to nod the ball home to draw Arbroath level before
half time. In the second half with the wind at our backs Heenan continued to create
havoc in the visiting defence. Brownlie put us ahead following a Mallan shot
being parried by the keeper. McKinnon added a third and an own goal, with Mallan
waiting to strike, made it four. Paul Brownlie completed the scoring for the
home side, before Queens pulled one back with a controversial last minute goal.
