Supporters Bus to Annan – The Townhouse to the Rescue

The club are running a bus for supporters to this weeks hugely important away game against Annan Athletic.

The cost of the bus is to be £15 each and we are still looking for more names to cheer on the Lichties.

Children under 12 can travel for free with a paying adult so why not treat the wife and leave her at home while you enjoy the match with your kids.

Fans travelling on the bus should meet at 9.30am at The Townhouse to sort out payment etc.

The bus will leave Arbroath at 10am sharp from The Townhouse Hotel Arbroath and return immediately after the match dropping supporters off back at The Townhouse.

Why not drop into The Townhouse for breakfast before getting the bus or after the game for hopefully a celebratory drink.

This is the biggest game of the season so far and we really need as many Lichtie fans as we can get to Annan to cheer the team on.

Every game is a cup final so please support the players and help bring 3 points back from Annan.

If we can get as many bookings for the bus as The Townhouse do at the weekends we might have to put on another bus!!

The club would like to thank The Townhouse who are sponsoring the bus and making it affordable for the Lichties fans traveling on the bus.

To book a seat, call Brian Cargill on 07793-070168 or email briancargill50@gmail.com

On Saturday Arbroath travel to Annan in one of 6 Cup finals left this season which will hopefully end in bringing silverware back to Gayfield.

Hopefully we will have a full Supporters bus heading down and I am going to make a film of the journey from Gayfield to Annan and back.

I want to get fans thoughts on the game ahead and views on the game afterwards and hopefully it will make a nice reminder of another great away performance.

I hope everyone on the bus will be happy to take part, no pressure if not but if some would be happy enough to speak it will make for a good video to watch.

Look forward too seeing you all on Saturday.

Post Match Interview with Arbroath's Ricky Little after Saturday's defeat at home to Montrose

Bus to Annan "Gayfield to Galabank" - Please Share

This is a rallying call to all Lichties!

Saturday was a small blip on what has been an outstanding season and with only 6 games to go everything is still in our own destiny.

The players have been outstanding all season and have been backed by a superb management and backroom staff and we have made giant leaps to where we were last season.

If you are thinking of going to support the team on Saturday, why not get the bus? If you book a train today it will cost you £67.30 for a return ticket!!!

Our bus would be run by the club, but the club would make no profit from it.

The bus will run if the cost of the bus rental is met, then the price will be cost neutral – What it costs will be divided by amongst those going – The more supporters who take up this offer, the lower the cost will be.

Right now we have 20 names. If we can get another 10 names the price will be about £15, but the more supporters who take this offer up the cheaper it becomes for you the supporter.

Make contact today - please. These things take time to organise and we don't want any fans disappointed.

The bus would be leaving around 10am from Gayfield, and return straight after the match. Annan Athletic have a great wee social club beside the ground that serves food and drinks and all supporters are welcome.

If interested please contact Brian Cargill as quickly as possible on 07793-070168 or email briancargill50@gmail.com

Lichties Bonus Ball Winner for March 2017

Congratulations to Frances Davidson who is the third winner of the Lichties Bonus Ball!

Frances was the lucky owner of bonus ball 28 which was picked on Saturday 25 in the National Lottery Draw. It was from ball set 3, and the machine used was Arthur.

We would like to thank everyone who took part and supported the club with this new fundraising adventure. It’s a win-win situation for the fans who can support the Club and also have a chance to win a considerable amount of money.

Each month there is £450 to be won on the last Saturday Lottery draw of the month and in November there is a bumper prize of £900 that one lucky winner will get just in time for Christmas.

All the balls were sold for the January, February and March draws but there maybe an opportunity to buy a ball in April if some of our entrants don’t wish to be part of that draw.

If you would like to be added to that waiting list then please contact draw organiser Brian Cargill via these details. Tel. 07793-070168 E-mail – briancargill50@gmail.com

Also thanks again to Moir Construction have played a big part in our Lichties Bonus Ball Scheme.

Arbroath 0 - 1 Montrose

The Lichties were dealt a blow in their promotion hopes when Stewart Petrie’s Montrose snatched victory at Gayfield thanks to a late Gary Fraser goal. However with both Forfar Athletic and Elgin City suffering defeat, Arbroath remain only one point from the top of the table.

Arbroath’s preparations were dealt a blow even before a ball was kicked with Martin Scott suffering injury during the warm up with Omar Kader getting the call from the bench to come into the starting line up.

This meant 2 changes from last week with Jassem Sukar returning to left back with Gavin Malin dropping to the bench and Bryan Hodge moving back into left midfield with Kader coming in for Scott.

Former Lichtie Allan Fleming had a strong game for the visitors and did well to deny Steven Doris and Bobby Linn in the second half.

The solitary goal came in the 85th minute when Fraser was able to get in to the Arbroath box and poked the ball past Ricky Gomes.

A disappointing result, but the LIchties still know that the title is in their own hands.

Pete BellFleming was man of the match that's how we lost. When a keeper is on that kind of form it's hard. Arbroath were poor to be honest. Our home form is bad it's our away form that's keeping us there.

Match Day 30 - Ladbrokes League 2 - Season 2016 / 2017

Saturday 25th March 2017, Gayfield Park, 3.00pm kick off

Arbroath welcome Angus neighbours Montrose to Gayfield tomorrow as Arbroath Manager Dick Campbell comes up against close friend Stewart Petrie and his Links Park side.

Stewart Petrie has taken Montrose from languishing at the wrong end of the table to pushing for a place in the play offs and have only suffered 2 defeats since we last met in February.

Both recent games at Gayfield have ended goalless but with the Lichties looking to keep up the pressure on the league leaders you can sense there will be goals.

With Goalkeeper Cammy Gill recalled to Dunfermline Athletic the Lichties are still in the hunt for an experienced back up keeper with one emergency loan still at their disposal.

Eddie Ferns missed out on the squad last week along with Josh Skelly but it is hoped they are both back soon for the final games.

This is the 3rd last home game of the season and with an international break for the SPFL clubs we would love to beat the 1731 that were at Gayfield on the 2nd of January.

Supporters Bus to Annan

Calling all Lichties! Your team are having an unbelievable season and with only 7 games to go we are in with a fantastic chance of doing something very special.

We value all the supporters who rack up the miles following the Lichties up and down the country. We are trying to allow more supporters to get down to Annan to cheer the team on, but currently the response to the club putting on a bus has been poor.

We are trying to fill a bus and the more fans on the bus the means it will be cheaper for you the supporter. The club are making no profit from this, but the bus will only run if the cost is met.

We are still trying to get names and numbers for a supporters bus down to Annan. If we could fill the bus, the cost could be around £12 a person, which is great value.
