GoPro Goal - Bobby Linn hat-trick 83rd minute.

Forfar Athletic's Michael Travis is sent off for a second yellow card on Michael McKenna giving Arbroath a free kick around 35 yards from goal.

Bobby Linn stepped up and smashed the ball into the back of the net to complete a remarkable hat-trick, his second of the season - both against Forfar Athletic!

Congratulations Bobby!

Lichties Bonus Ball Sold Out for 2019 - THANK YOU!

More great news this evening as our Lichtie Bonus Ball initiative has sold out for the entirety of 2019!

Thank you to everyone who has signed up and bought a ball for 2019! It really is a testament to our loyal supporters who have rallied again to support our club.

The Lichties Bonus Ball is one of our key initiatives which helps bring in funds to help strengthen our squad on the pitch and improve Gayfield as a club off the pitch.

We as a club are striving to be the best we can on and off the pitch and we wouldn’t be able to do that without your support and backing our initiatives, coming to our Hospitality afternoons and of course attending Gayfield.

Every single penny does make a difference and we have been extremely fortunate that our Management team have put together an extremely talented squad of players who are hungry for success.

A special mention must go to Brian Cargill who has been pivotal in the success of the Lichties Bonus Ball.

Arbroath FC would also like to thank Moir Construction Ltd, Arbikie Highland Estate and Megatech Projects Ltd for their loyal and valued support.

Thank you! We really do mean it.

Good luck to everyone who has bought a ball!

C'mon the Lichties!

Forfar Athletic vs Arbroath - Match Preview

Match Day 16 - Ladbrokes League 1 - Season 2018 / 2019

Saturday 8th December 2018, Station Park, Forfar - 3.00pm kick off

Arbroath make the short trip across Angus to Forfar tomorrow as we face Jim Weir’s Forfar Athletic at Station Park for our 6th Angus derby of the season.

It is always a tough fixture at Station Park and Forfar have recorded stunning wins over Raith Rovers and Dumbarton in their last two league home games.

Forfar also have a 4th round Scottish Cup tie with Kilmarnock to look forward to after overcoming BSC Glasgow at Station Park.

Forfar Athletic Team News

Forfar, like Arbroath are working with a small squad of players with a few of the younger players sent out on loan. The most recent addition to their squad was goalkeeper Adam Young who was signed in time for their Scottish Cup 3rd round tie after Willie Muir was unavailable.

Arbroath Team News

Arbroath will be hoping that Thomas O’Brien has overcome the niggle that kept him out of the starting line up last weekend. Omar Kader also suffered an injury last week from a tackle and striker Callum Smith should be returning to the Arbroath very squad very soon.

This will be another very tough match for the Lichties. We need you to be our 12th man and cheer on the Lichties from the very first minute.

Rainbow Laces

Arbroath Football Club was delighted to show our support for lesbian, gay, bi and trans players and fans by wearing Rainbow Laces during our Ladbrokes League One match against Stenhousemuir FC on Saturday

Rainbow Laces is Stonewall Scotland campaign to change attitudes in sport and make sure that LGBT people are welcomed and accepted at all levels of the game.

Sadly, many lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) people have a poor experience in sport and have experienced discrimination because of who they are.

Research shows that almost half of LGBT people think that public sporting events, such as football matches, aren’t a welcoming space for them.

Colin Macfarlane, Director of Stonewall Scotland, said: “We are delighted that SPFL clubs are supporting our Rainbow Laces campaign, and by doing so, standing with LGBT football fans across Scotland. We want to see fans make similar commitments and become active allies to LGBT people by creating a welcoming environment and challenging abuse.

Many LGBT people want to take part in football, either as players or fans, but abuse from a small minority makes many people feel unsafe. We look forward to working alongside the SPFL and clubs across Scotland to help make football everyone’s game.”

Arbroath Secretary and Director, Dr Gary Callon said: “Arbroath Football Club is proud to be supporting the Rainbow Laces Campaign. We want all fans to feel welcome and included at games at Gayfield Park and do our best to make it a family environment.”

Football, whether supporting your team on the terraces or playing on the pitch should be somewhere everyone can be themselves.”

We can only stop homophobic, biphobic and transphobic behaviour and language from happening in football by showing that it is not acceptable, at every level of the game.

We are dedicated to eradicating any forms of homophobic, biphobic or transphobic behaviour and making sure Arbroath Football Club is a place where LGBT fans can be safe and accepted. We need you to stand with us as allies to LGBT people.
