Scott Morrison - (25)
a goalkeeper who signed for Arbroath from East Fife in summer of 2006.
A reliable and competent performer who was understudy
to Mark Peat last season
Darren Hill (26) -
Signed during the transfer window in January 2008, Darren was at
East Stirlingshire for the first half of season 2007/8 and before
that was with Falkirk.
Defenders
Kevin McMullan - (24)
A product of Gayfield youth development, Kevin is comfortable at right
back or on the right side of midfield. An uncompromising player who
gets stuck in. Flyer is a popular figure with the fans for his
commitment and never say die approach. A versatile player who has
settled into a right midfield role. He is always looking for scoring
opportunities.
Jamie Bishop - (22)
Central defender in his fourth season at Gayfield. Jamie featured
prominently in the Dunfermline youth team before coming to Arbroath.
Jamie signed from Dunfermline in July 2004. Has a cool head on his shoulders and can be relied on
to turn in a good performance. Was last season's Player of the Year
Alan Campbell - Great
things are hoped from Alan who arrived at Gayfield after impressing
John McGlashan while playing for Scone Thistle. A confident centre
back, who rarely seems troubled with the ball.
STUART FERGUSON - (27)
Stuart joined the club from Angus rivals Brechin City in May 2007 and
joins the select club of those players who have played for all four
Angus clubs. Competent in defence and likes to
push forward when the opportunity arises. He can play
anywhere down the left hand side and his versatility should come in
useful this season. Former Montrose captain.
Steven Rennie - (26)
Signed from Falkirk in June 2003 and is the currently longest serving
player at Gayfield. Experienced central defender who can also play
at right back. He is the team's long throw specialist and scored twice
last season. Arbroath fans were delighted when this uncompromising
and committed player signed for another season.
Robbie Raeside - (35)
Central defender Robbie joined Arbroath for his second spell in January
2006 when he teamed up again with John McGlashan as assistant manager
and player. His experience helped steady the ship at the back. The
most experienced player in the squad, Raeside has instilled a great
deal of confidence in the younger players around him in defence. He
is always there to cajole and advise when the team is under pressure.
Robbie is another player who likes to get forward and nick a goal
at set pieces.
CRAIG TULLY - (29) Signed in May 2007
from Peterhead, he is normally a central defender or right back
however Craig is also useful in a central midfield role, is also
something of a set-piece expert, and is known for chipping in with a
goal or two.
ALAN RATTRAY - (28). Signed in the January
2008 transfer window from Forfar Athletic where he was Club Captain in
his 12th year with the Loons having played 255 games for then scoring
12 goals in the process.
Midfielders
BARRY SELLARS - (31)
Arbroath fans continue to look for big things from the experienced midfielder
whom many consider to be back where he belongs when he rejoined us
in 2006. Barry departed for
Clyde in May 2000 and moved on to Forfar the following November. His
displays for the Station Park outfit were a constant reminder to Arbroath
fans of what they were missing. His vision and command of the midfield
combined with the ability to score important goals was important
to us last season.
NICKY SMITH - (20)
an enthusiastic midfield player a promising future, who has come up
through the ranks. He made himself a first team regular last season
and we expect him to continue to improve. Nicky is prepared
to roll up his sleeves and give 100%, an approach that can sometimes
attract the attention of match officials. His pacey runs and constant
movement has made him a regular first choice.
Paul Watson - (21)
A product of Gayfield youth development. Paul showed great promise
with some solid displays against tough opponents last season and has done enough
to suggest that the best is yet to come.
Roddy Black - (31)
Left sided defender/midfielder who previously served Brechin City
for ten years having signed on at the Glebe in 1995 from Carnoustie
Panmure. Uncompromising in the tackle and capable of surging
runs up the flank, his experience has been a vital asset and will
continue to be important this term.
TERRY MASSON - (19)
Capped for Scotland at under 17s. One to watch in the months to come.
PAUL LUNAN - (25) Signed from
Forfar Athletic in the January 2008 transfer window, Paul is a very talented player who gives us a bit
more dig in midfield. He's also
likely to chip in with a few goals which
boosts our goal threat.
Forwards
ANDY REILLY - (21)
established himself as a regular in the first team squad last season
making 18 starts and 14 appearances on the bench. He has become a
fans favourite.
Alan Brazil - (22)
previously been with Aston Villa, Gayfield favourite, Alan is now
in his fourth season with the Club. A strong attack minded forward,
who can hold the ball up. Alan has a phenomenal work-rate and fulfilled
his goal-scoring potential after John McGlashan took over the reins.
A leg break at the national stadium in January 2006 brought his season
to an early close just as he looked like causing real damage to opposition
goals against columns. Recovered to full fitness last season
and with a good pre-season fans are expecting goals from him this
season.
Bryan Scott - (22)
a prolific striker for junior side, Scone Thistle who joined Arbroath
during the summer of 2006. His physical presence, speed and
composure adds another dimension to the squad. He was in and out of
the team last season but managed to score 8 goals.
Paul tosh - (33)
started his career with home town club, Arbroath before moving to
Dundee for £120k in 1993 and then to Hibs for £100k in 1996. He
joined Forfar Athletic in 2001 and scored 90 goals for them before
being released in 2007. We hope he will continue to score goals
during his second spell with the team.
