Officials from the Club are aware of an incident that occurred with an Arbroath supporter standing behind the Irvine Meadow goal on Saturday. A steward from Irvine Meadow spoke to Club officials who were standing in close vicinity beside the 18 yard line and advised them of the matter. All supporters should be aware that unacceptable behaviour from supporters of Arbroath Football Club at Gayfield and other stadiums will not be tolerated and that offenders are liable to be ejected and possibly banned from attending future football matches. The Club understands that the vast majority of supporters are well behaved and that this was an isolated incident. The individual concerned should be aware that he has been identified and gratitude is extended to those supporters who were standing behind the goal who dealt with the matter.

Irvine Meadow 1-0 Arbroath
Junior side Irvine Meadow stunned Arbroath to book their place in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
The Ayrshire outfit dominated the first half and scored on 36 minutes when Richie Barr slotted home from Ryan McGinty's cut-back.
Arbroath's extra fitness had an effect as the game wore on but the Second Division side created very little.
And, on the balance of their fine first half play, Meadow hung on to celebrate a famous victory.

Update on Gayfield Park Improvements
Building Work
Supporters visiting Gayfield will notice that building work has started in front of the main stand. The purpose of this work is to extend the home dressing room, physio room and the match officials room outwards to double their size and a similar extension is also being made to the away dressing room. These improvements are being made to meet SFA Club Licencing criteria.
Floodlights
Supporters will also have noticed changes to the floodlighting system over the summer months in preparation for the new season. A new lighting rig has appeared on the roof of the main stand and several of the old lights have been replaced and some relocated. This work has been carried out as part of SFA Club Licencing criteria and the lighting level has now significantly increased and with a much better degree of uniformity. The lights are now switched on through a timing circuit which brings them on in 3 groups over a 6 minute period. This is designed to reduce the electricity that is drawn through the system at the costly initial start up phase.

A REVIEW OF LEAGUE ATTENDANCES BY FRASER
CLYNE ©
Slight Improvement in Crowds
By Fraser Clyne (c)
Promotion to the Second Division didn’t do
much to attract more people through the Gayfield turnstiles last season. The
average home gate of 636 for league matches was only marginally up on the
previous season’s 612 and is still lower than in 2006-07 when home crowds
averaged 735.
For the first time in many years the 1,000
tally was never achieved. The highest home crowd was 921 for the March 2009
meeting with championship-chasing Raith Rovers. The lowest home crowd was
411 for the visit of struggling Stranraer in November 2008.
Champions Raith Rovers, not surprisingly,
attracted the best average of 2,225. The Kirkcaldy side also drew the five
biggest crowds of the season. Rovers’ final home match with Arbroath, when
the championship trophy was presented, was watched by 4426 people – the
second biggest turnout of the season in the Second Division.
Relegated Stranraer, with an average home
crowd of 366, attracted nine of the ten lowest crowds, including the 228 and
277 who watched the two matches with Arbroath at Stair Park.
The Club made a presentation to Barry Sellars
on Saturday to commemorate his goal against Dumbarton.
The presentation was made at what we believe the spot is that he struck his
74m effort.

Craig Fyfe who is Barry's player sponsor presented him with a memento of the
occasion.
