BRECHIN CITY:- Ritchie, Harrier, Kidd, McLardy, Tocher, Dunn, Cooper, Reid, Newman, Sandeman, Dow. Sub: Waddell.

Brechin kicked off with a strong wind in their favour. Early on in the match, Reid got through on goal but Phillips rushed out to take the ball off his foot.

In fourteen minutes, Arbroath took the lead. Sellars took  a pass from Stewart and crossed the ball into the goalmouth. JACK out-jumped the defence to head home.

The Arbroath goal had a narrow escape when a shot from Dow beat Phillips but hit the bar. In twenty six minutes, Brechin drew level from a corner kick. Cooper took the kick and found DOW who fired in a shot that struck Cargill before entering the net.

At the start of the second half, Dunn kicked Bruce’s effort off the line. Then five minutes into the second period, Brechin took the lead. A pass from Newman found COOPER who beat several defenders before firing the ball past Phillips.

Milne then had an attempt from thirty five yards that whizzed past an upright with Ritchie grasping thin air. But in seventy five minutes, Arbroath were back on level terms when a Sellars cross was flicked home by BRUCE.
