Stranraer vs Arbroath – Match Preview

Match Day 11 – Ladbrokes League 1 – Season 2018 / 2019

Saturday 27th October 2018, Stair Park, Stranraer – 3.00pm kick off

Arbroath make the long trip down to Stranraer tomorrow as the face Stephen Farrell’s Stranraer side at Stair Park.

The Blues have brought in four players since our last meeting back in August with Defender Daniel Higgins and Striker Innes Cameron arriving on loan from Kilmarnock with the Celtic duo of Ciaran Driver and PJ Crossan also arriving on loan to bolster the Stranraer strike force. PJ Crossan is well known to the Arbroath team having enjoyed a loan spell at Alloa Athletic last season.

Our last meeting at Gayfield was a tight encounter with late goals from Michael McKenna and Ryan Wallace securing the win for the Lichties.

We expect another tough afternoon against the experienced Stranraer defence with a dangerous forward line of Luke Donnelly, Grant Anderson and Issac Layne also to contend with.

Stranraer Team News

Having pushed Raith Rovers all the way last week it looks like Stranraer are at full strength and have been boosted with the return of Mark Lamont who worked on his fitness with a closed door game against Clyde during the international break.

Arbroath Team News

Arbroath Manager Dick Campbell has a positive headache selection with all 3 substitutes last weekend making the difference in our victory over Dumbarton. The return of striker Steven Doris also gives the entire club a boost whilst also rising the heat in the competition for a starting place.
