Raith Rovers vs Arbroath – Match Preview

Ladbrokes Championship – Game 01 – Season 2020 / 2021

Saturday 17th October 2020, Stark’s Park, Kirkcaldy, 3.00pm kick off

223 Days.

A staggering 223 days since our last Championship match at a very wet Cappielow, so we are delighted to return to action tomorrow as we travel to Stark’s Park to face Raith Rovers.

It will be our first return to Stark’s Park since February 2019 when a Colin Hamilton goal secured all 3 points for the Lichties. The teams met once again on the 21st April when a televised match seen the sides play out a 2-2 draw.

John McGlynn has been busy over the summer bringing in 6 players with experienced Goalkeeper Jamie McDonald one of the big names. Jamie played for Alloa last season on loan and impressed against the Lichties.

One the summer signings Immanuelson “Manny” Duku is capturing the imagination with the Dutch striker hitting the ground running including a stunning strike against Hearts on Tuesday evening.

Many of the Raith Rovers side are familiar faces to Arbroath fans with the spine of the team still the same since our League One meetings.

Arbroath Manager Dick Campbell will be sweating on the fitness of Colin Hamilton who missed the trip to Dingwall after picking up an injury against Montrose last weekend. Mark Whatley is also expected to miss out for the Lichties.

It will be a tough fixture for the Lichties, but as always we shall give it everything.

C’mon the Lichties!
