Inverness Caledonian Thistle U20s 0 – 3 Arbroath
Irn Bru Cup – 1st Round
Tuesday 2nd August 2016 – 7.45pm, Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, Inverness
Arbroath are through to the second round of the Irn Bru Cup after a professional performance against the Caley Thistle Colt team.
The Lichties pressed from kick off but had to be patient but finally broke the deadlock in the 17th minute when a Bobby Linn cross fell to Omar Kader at the back post who struck from close range.
Only 4 minutes later the Lichties doubled their lead, this time it was a Ryan McCord corner which was thumped home by Colin Hamilton (pictured) in the 21st minute.
Arbroath continued to look for a 3rd, but the young Highlanders were fast and the Arbroath defence were on alert throughout.
Into the second half and keeper Ricky Gomes had to be replaced midway through the second half which looked like it was due to injury.
Arbroath scored their 3rd after Ricky Little came running down the wing with the ball before finding Linn who curled into the box where Martin ‘Jimmy’ Scott cooly finished in the 77th minute.
