Raith Rovers vs Arbroath – Match Preview
Match Day 09 – Ladbrokes League 1 – Season 2018 / 2019
Saturday 6th October 2018, Stark’s Park, Kirkcaldy, 3.00pm kick off
Arbroath travel back to Fife tomorrow for our final game of the first quarter of the season. Raith Rovers have been making the headlines this week with the appointment of returning Manager John McGlynn and a thumping win over Dumbarton last weekend in his first game in charge.
The spotlight being on Raith has somewhat taken the pressure off the Lichties with the full time side from Kirkcaldy getting lots of coverage in all local and national Newspapers.
However Assistant Manager Ian Campbell told the media last week that his focus is firmly fixed on the Lichties with knowing how far the club has progressed on and off the pitch since he and Dick arrived back in March 2016
It has been an incredible start to the season for the Lichties with only defeat in all competitions and currently 6 wins out of 8 games in Ladbrokes League One with the most league goals scored in all of Scotland and the best defence in League One.
Raith Rovers Team News
John McGlynn brought in Kevin Silva, Callum Crane and Regan Hendry before the emergency transfer window closed at the weekend but is without Grant Gillespie, Keiran Wright and Chris Duggan is a doubt with Ross Matthews slowing returning to training.
Arbroath Team News
The Lichties may still be without Callum Smith as he recovers from a knock with Steven Doris again getting fitter as each week passes.
There is no doubt this will be the toughest league match so far this season and with Raith Rovers also climbing up the scoring tables after last weekend’s 5 goals.
We of course always are grateful for your support and look forward to a large and vocal support tomorrow in the McDermid Stand.

We have been contacted by Kirkcaldy Rugby Club who are based in Beveridge Park just minutes from Stark’s Park and Arbroath supporters are welcome to pop in to their social club, however space is limited and it will be first come, first served.
Travelling to Stark’s Park
By Train – Kirkcaldy Railway Station is situated to the North of the stadium and within easy walking distance (approximately 1 mile) of the stadium. On leaving platform 2, walk onto Whyte Melville Road towards the Railway Bridge then turn right and continue towards Beveridge Park Roundabout. Thereafter continue onto Abbotshall Road to Pratt Street.
By Car – From A92, leave dual carriageway at Kirkcaldy West, take the 3rd exit signposted A910 Town Centre and continue on that route to Kirkcaldy Railway Station. The ‘station’ car park is available for use and can be accessed from exit 2. There is additional but limited parking at Beveridge Park Car Park. To the south of the stadium, there is significant public and ‘on street parking’ in and around the esplanade. If parking ‘on street’, patrons are asked to park responsibly and be aware of some local restrictions. Pratt Street will be closed to traffic at least 30 minutes prior to kick off.
By Coach – Supporters coaches can be accommodated in the Beveridge Park car park (40 spaces)and on the esplanade. There is no general drop off facility at the stadium due to restricted access. Patrons using public transport can exit Kirkcaldy Bus Station and make their way via High Street to Links Street and thereafter arrive at Pratt Street South.
Blue Badge Parking – There are 12 spaces available at the rear of the North (Val McDermid) Stand which are offered on a first come first served basis. Any special drop off arrangements should be made directly to the club prior to match day. (01592 263514)
This is a huge game for both clubs and with a stand to ourselves we hope that there will be a very large and vocal support cheering on the Lichties!
We hope to see you there!
C’mon the Lichties!
PS – Spot the glaring mistake!
